Nichola Crawford.
Nichola is a fully accredited humanistic and integrative psychotherapist and counsellor. She believes in providing a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to allow you to explore issues that are causing you distress in your everyday life. Relationship is key and Nichola works by entering into a mutually respectful therapeutic relationship that moves at a pace and in a direction that you, the client, are comfortable with. This allows you to achieve lasting change and growth in your life.
BACKGROUND
Before working as a psychotherapist, Nichola’s professional background was as a pharmacist. It was her work in pharmacy that provided the starting point for work as a psychotherapist. Through talking and listening to people dealing with a wide range of physical, mental, and emotional conditions for over twenty-five years she came to understand the value of providing an empathic and professional presence within the pharmacy setting. She fully appreciates that people from all walks of life regardless of age, gender, education, sexual orientation, or family background struggle at some point with the demands of 21st-century living. Nichola has also previously worked with the Chrysalis Community Drugs Project, helping people overcome the various challenges associated with addiction.
QUALIFICATIONS
Nichola holds a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University. She is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (I.A.C.P.) and abides by their standards and code of ethics. She engages in regular supervision and personal and professional development to ensure the highest standards of safe and professional practice.
APPROACH
Nichola works in a Humanistic Integrative way which means that she draws on a number of therapeutic skills, in particular, Person-Centred and Psychodynamic theories. Working in this way allows her to adapt to each person’s individual needs and circumstances, one size does not fit all. Working in this way allows Nichola to assist you in finding ways to respond to challenges that restore a feeling of control and increased self worth.
ISSUES
Typical of the issues supported by Nichola are Anxiety, Addiction, Relationship difficulties, Abuse, Sexuality, Depression, Bereavement and Loss, Stress, Isolation and Loneliness, Anger issues, Self Esteem/ Building Confidence/ Self- Acceptance.
FEES
Following on from the initial consultation Nichola’s fees are €75 per hourly session. Nichola is currently only working online.
